This course is designed as an online learning option for OCC School of Sailing and Seamanship students pursuing a 100-ton master or a OUPV (6-pack) captain's license. Learning is conduct at your own pace, with optional live Q&A sessions with the instructor.
Register for your exam proctor date with The OCC School of Sailing & Seamanship to receive a coupon code for your online training with Practical Navigator Training. You will have lifetime access to the online material once enrolled. Exam days are scheduled from 8am to 5pm on the third Friday of every month.
Your books, tools & chart are shipped USPS Priority and will arrive in about a week. The course materials listed below are included in the price of the course, and you have the option of purchasing additional plotting tools through the OCC Lazarette.
License Requirements:
1. Documented Sea time - A minimum of 360 underway days as paid or volunteer skipper or crew for Master Inland/Mate Near Coastal and OUPV (720 days for Master Near Coastal).
2. TWIC Card
3. Proof of US Citizenship
4. Current First Aid and CPR certification. See the USCG website for recognized cards or sign up for a Red Cross through OCC School of Sailing and Seamanship.
5. A physical exam and a drug screen (details provided at registration)

Christopher D. Nolan is a former US Coast Guard cutterman. Chris has over 14 years of sea time, with 10 years in command. He holds a 1600-ton USCG merchant mariner license upon ocean routes, having served on the following vessels:
